Belmont Youth Basketball (BYBA) is a volunteer-run community youth basketball nonprofit (501(c)(3)) for children who live or go to school in Belmont.
Programs include In-Town recreational leagues for grades 3β8 (separate boys' and girls' divisions grouped 3β4, 5β6, 7β8, with guaranteed equal playing time; Saturday games in Belmont; season runs mid-November to March/mid-February), a Rookies developmental program for 2nd graders (9 weeks of fundamentals, Saturday mornings, starting in early December), and travel teams for grades 4β8 (plus a new grade 3 pilot in the Jr. MetroWest League for 2026β27), with 1β2 practices per week and 1β2 weekend games against teams from other towns. Travel players are automatically included in In-Town.
For the 2026β27 travel season, registration opened June 19 and closed August 2, with a waitlist starting August 3 (a $50 late fee may apply; no refunds after October 16). In-Town registration opens each September; 2025β26 deadlines were October 25 for grades 3β8 and end of November for Rookies. Travel tryout dates are not published on the club's site.
